| Brian K. Lynch,
President
Brian has over 30 years experience in the employee benefits field. His first position was with ITT Hartford as a group insurance Marketing Representative in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania regional office. He then made the transition to Senior Benefits Consultant for Babb Incorporated located in Philadelphia. His responsibilities included the marketing and account management of both welfare and pension plan related services. In 1977, Brian was hired by Frank B. Hall, a national benefits firm, as the Benefit Consulting Manager of the Hartford, Connecticut division. While in this position Brian received company wide recognition for exceeding all goals relating to new business growth and profitability. In 1981 Brian accepted a position as the New England Regional Manager of IDS Life. His job responsibilities entailed the underwriting and marketing of stop loss insurance products to both independent third party claims administrators and to commercial carriers. The office, which represented IDS Life's first foray into New England, was successful from both a profitability and retention of business perspective. In 1984 Brian became the founder and president of Mount Vernon of Connecticut, an independent third party claims administration company. The company grew to become a regionally recognized leader in the evaluation, implementation and on-going management of partially self-funded medical, dental and disability programs. In the fall of 1991, recognizing quickly changing market trends and the replacement of TPA services with locally based HMO claims services, Brian founded Benefit Resource Group. His combination of underwriting, marketing and self funding experience enabled him to assist Connecticut employers in making successful transitions from traditional indemnity plans to both insured and partially self funded HMO based managed care plans. Brian's ultimate goal was to bring together professionals of varied benefits based disciplines including human resources, customer service, underwriting, plan design and financial analysis. Brian serves as an
expert witness related to ERISA plans and has participated in CBIA benefit
seminars. He is a past president of the Connecticut TPA Association. He
has also lectured on employee benefits for the National Association of
Accountants continuing education program. Benefit Resource Group has evolved
as a recognized leader in managed care and has been afforded the privilege
on sitting on the Large Group Broker Advisory Boards of ConnectiCare,
and Oxford Health Plans. Brian has a B. S. in Economics from Siena College
and will complete his CEBS exams this fall. |
